This week, Mrs. Siravo's math class worked very hard learning about place value and expanded notation. We ended our unit with a popcorn expanded notation game. Shaking up the numbers
Picking lucky numbers
What numbers will they be?
Figuring out the biggest and smallest numbers they can make
This week we learned about Johnny Appleseed, a great American Hero. After a week of "apple activities", we relaxed and made fried apples to enjoy. The children had a great time and loved trying the fried apples!
We learned about different types of sentences including: commands, questions, exclamations, and statements. The students had fun putting on either a captains hat or jokers hat to give their command or exclamation.
Welcome! My name is Nichole Siravo and I will be your child's second grade teacher. I received both my undergrad and Masters in Education from Bowling Green State Universtity. I have been teaching for four years and truly feel blessed to be in my profession. In my spare time I enjoy reading, boating and traveling with my husband, walking my dogs, Zoe and Gracie, and being with my family and friends. On snow days, I enjoy sleeping in, going to breakfast, and watching movies in my PJ's. I hope you enjoy our classroom highlights and I look forward to reading your comments! Lets have a fabulous year! :)
Sincerely,
Mrs. Siravo
