More Fun with Adjectives

We used our writing skills to write three descriptive sentences about the animal in the picture they were given.

Adjectives are Describing Words

Last week we began our study of adjectives or describing words.  The students were put into groups and had to use their senses to write down as many adjectives as they could about the object in their paper bag.  Then the other groups guessed what was in their bags by listening to the adjectives they used to describe the item.

More with Pronouns

To end our week with pronouns the students had to choose which pronoun would replace the nouns in the sentences on the board.

Maddy T. was searching for the correct pronoun.

Billy replaced snow with it.

Searching for Pronouns

This week in language we learned about pronouns or small words that take the place of nouns.  In pairs the children went on a pronoun hunt and highlighted pronouns in the story The Planet Without Pronouns.

Kedrick & Connor V. working comfortably!

Logan and Reese hard at work.

Audrey and Connor P. searched very hard.

The Polar Express

When we returned back to the United States, we had a magical time drinking hot cocoa and watching The Polar Express.

Fun at the North Pole

To end our Polar Express Unit the students had a blast going to the North Pole.  They made reindeer ornaments, worked on Christmas activities, and frosted Christmas cookies.

Mrs. Carter, Mrs. Cramer, and Mrs. Thomas had fun frosting cookies too!

Mrs. Haney & Mrs. Siravo working hard to help with the reindeer ornaments.

Santa Delivers Letters!!!

Back in November the students enjoyed writing letters to Santa Claus in hopes he would write back.  Well December 17th was their lucky day because Santa Claus did write back to each student! :)  Mrs. Thomas made a special delivery in the morning and the students had fun reading their letters to each other.
