How long is a minute?

In math my class is began learning about time.  As an introduction we learned how long a minute was.  We made predictions of what we could do in a minute and then tested to see if our predictions were correct.

This group is writing their first and last name as many times as they can in 1 minute.

This group is writing the alphabet as many times as they can in 1 minute.

This group is saying The Pledge of Allegiance as many times as they can in 1 minute.

This group is assembling as many unifix cubes as they can in 1 minute.

This week in language we learned about comparative adjectives.  The students were given an adjective and had to draw three objects to compare.  They learned to add the ending "er" when comparing 2 or more objects, and "est" when comparing 3 or more objects.  Each student then read their comparisons to the class.
