Valentine Prefix Fun

As we continued learning about prefixes this week, the students each received a half of a broken heart. Not only did they have to match their broken heart half with the correct prefix and baseword, they also had to make sure the heart halves matched. Afterward, with their partner the pairs wrote a sentence using the prefix and illustrated it.





Nature's Nursery Visit

This month when Laura from Nature's Nursery came to pick up our donations, she brought along a special visitor. He was a squirrel name Albert. Morgan and Nicholas were chosen to load up the donations for Laura in the rain.










The Pine Park Mystery

One activity we completed with our story this week, was sequencing the plot. First in groups, the students raced to put the events in order. Afterward, we used sentence strips to review what happened in The Pine Park Mystery.

Introduction to Prefixes

This week in Language we began learning about prefixes and base words.

100th Day of School!!

On Friday, we celebrated her 100th day of school. It was fun brainstorming how we would look and be when if we were 100 years old, and making and eating a 100's snack. (10 of each ingredient)

Landform Islands

This week to end our unit on landforms, the students made edible land form islands. After they made their islands, they had to make a map and map key. Some of the details on their map included, soil, rivers, plateaus, mountains, and hills.

Contraction Closets


Micah and Parker show off their contraction closets they made this week in language. Each student had to create their contraction, use their contraction in a sentence, and illustrate it.

Fact & Opinion

This week we read a story titled, The Emperor's Egg. The students learning the difference between facts and opinions. Each student can tell you a fact about the father, mother, and baby penguin.
